Victim Support Letters

Please consider supporting the victims of sexual assault at USAFA by sending a letter or email to them via the SARC office addresses below. Letters do not need to be sent to known victims/survivors. A blanket letter of support helps cadets that feel isolated and traumatized. The victim in the Brown GCM received our emails and her family appreciated our words of support and encouragement. Based on the intense experience of the victim during testimony, a slew of letters voicing our support would be a moral boost to the Kim GCM victim and any other cadets trying to process a sexual assault.

Here is an example:

"Dear Cadet,
I know this week you will be braving a court martial seeking justice that is long overdue. Please know you are not alone. I am proud of your strength and courage to stand up for what is right and hold your perpetrator accountable. You are an inspiration to those of us seeking justice. Stand strong. Be fearless. You are not alone. You are loved and admired."

Colorado Volunteer Group

As we expand our support to victims at USAFA we need to organize a Colorado based group of ZASA volunteers. If you are willing to participate or lead this effort please contact us.

Communications Planning

We are exploring additional communication options for expanding our contact with USAFA alumni and cadets. If you are interested in participating please Contact Us.

Attend Events

Attending events to voice concerns and show support is critical in changing the culture around sexual assault. We need to show that sexual assault prevention and response must be a priority issue for leadership. Our goal is to attend every cadet GCM involving sexual misconduct and show our support for those willing to press charges and face the ordeal of a GCM. Please consider attending a GCM if you can. We also ask you to show up in force at Board of Visitors meetings to ensure ZASA remains relevant with changes in leadership.
If you need support now call the DoD Safe Helpline (877) 995-5247 or 911. For other resources, see our Resources page.
